What the Research Shows
The First-Gift Cliff
Nationally, roughly 4 in 5 first-time donors never make a second gift: first-time donor retention sits around 18%, well below the 43% overall average. A structured stewardship process in a donor's first 90 days is one of the highest-leverage, lowest-cost fixes most nonprofits have available.

See where your organization stands →The Recurring-Giving Advantage
After one year, 71% of monthly donors are still giving, compared to just 24% of new one-time donors, a gap wide enough to make recurring giving one of the highest-leverage levers most nonprofits underuse. Converting even a portion of one-time donors into monthly sustainers does more for long-term revenue stability than acquiring new donors at the same rate.

See where your organization stands →The Planned-Giving Gap
Charitable bequests have made up roughly 7-9% of all U.S. giving in most years over the past four decades, and reached just over 10% in 2025, yet most nonprofits still don't have even a basic planned-giving program. The gap matters beyond the eventual gift: at one studied institution, realized bequest gifts averaged 21 times a donor's lifetime annual giving, meaning a planned-giving conversation is also a marker of a donor's deepest capacity, not just a future line item.

Frankly Inspired and Associates, LLC works with mission-driven institutions that need more than a short-term fix. Engagements are designed around the organization's context, capacity, leadership needs, and sustainability goals.
Focus Areas
Sustainability Strategy
Organizational assessment, strategic priorities, risk identification, sustainability roadmaps, and implementation planning.
Revenue & Growth
Individual donor stewardship and retention, fundraising strategy, grant and public-funding strategy, revenue-pipeline design, and the cross-sector partnerships (education, workforce, government, corporate, philanthropic, and community) that sustain them.
Leadership & Operations
Executive advising and change leadership, paired with the workflows, KPIs, CRM/Salesforce practices, and AI readiness guidance that keep an organization running well. 1:1 leadership coaching is available as its own engagement.
How We Work Together
Every engagement starts the same way: a discovery conversation, followed by the InstitutionalOS Diagnostic scored for your organization's actual lifecycle stage. From there, the method never changes, whether the priority is formation, funding, or long term durability.
- Assess. Structured scoring across the dimensions that matter at your stage, never a generic checklist.
- Verify. Higher scores require evidence: a documented policy, an observed practice, a filed financial statement, not self reported optimism. A strong score means something because it had to be earned.
- Decide. Every organization has one binding constraint right now, the single thing limiting progress more than any other. Naming it specifically is the job, not producing a wall of generic recommendations.
- Improve. A 90 day target for closing a meaningful share of the gap, concrete enough to act on Monday morning.
- Reassess. Your score is tracked over time through InstitutionalOS, so progress is measured, not just described.
This is the same method behind every free scorecard on this site. A paid diagnostic goes further: it verifies the evidence directly with you and ends in a working session, not just a number.
Engagement Options
Every paid engagement begins with the InstitutionalOS Diagnostic. It is the single entry point regardless of your organization's stage, and it is the foundation the work below builds on.
InstitutionalOS Diagnostic
$2,000 to $2,500flat fee, by stage
One diagnostic, three stages. The stage you're at sets the price and the emphasis, not the product.
Formation, $2,000. Governance and Strategy scored first, so the foundation holds as you grow.
Grant Readiness, $2,500. Financial Health scored from your actual filed IRS Form 990 data, not self reported estimates, ranked against your target funders.
Institutional Durability, $2,500. A scored, trackable read on financial resilience, leadership succession, and operational maturity.
- All seven Health Index dimensions scored against your stage's benchmarks
- A written memo naming your single binding constraint
- A 90 day plan built on the InstitutionalOS lift formula
- A live readout session, plus ongoing access to track your score
Ongoing Advisory and Implementation Retainer
$2,500 to $3,500per month
Best fit once the diagnostic has named your binding constraint and you want ongoing support closing it. Cadence and scope are set together at the readout, from periodic strategic guidance through weekly hands on implementation.
- Executive strategy sessions, periodic or weekly depending on scope
- Sustainability, revenue, and operations guidance
- Stakeholder strategy and document review
- Roadmap and revenue pipeline implementation when weekly cadence is the right fit
- Leadership alignment and expanded project support at the implementation level
- Three month recommended minimum
Project Based Engagement
Customscope and fee
Best fit for a single, clearly defined project rather than an ongoing retainer.
- For defined projects such as sustainability assessments, revenue diversification plans, operating systems, partnership strategies, and leadership planning.
1:1 Executive Coaching
$350per session
Best fit as a standalone engagement or alongside the retainer above, for leaders who want dedicated, confidential support.
- 60 minute 1:1 sessions
- Executive decision making and change leadership
- Confidential space outside board and staff dynamics
- Scheduled as needed, no monthly minimum
Not sure which option fits? Start with a conversation, and I'll help you figure out the right scope.
Every diagnostic is evidence based, not aspirational: a score reflects what can be verified, not what sounds good. This isn't legal, accounting, or safeguarding review; where a finding touches those areas, it comes with a recommendation to bring in the right specialist, not a substitute opinion.
What You Actually Receive
Illustrative example, not a real client. This shows the format of a completed diagnostic, not a claimed result.
Organization: Sample Community Youth Alliance (fictional, for illustration only)
Pathway: Institutional Durability Diagnostic (SUSTAIN)
- Financial Health (58/100). Two years of filed financials reviewed; no reserve policy on file.
- Governance (71/100). Board bylaws current; succession plan not documented.
- Leadership Bench Strength (44/100). Single point of failure identified in program leadership.
- Operational Maturity (66/100). Core workflows documented; no KPI dashboard in use.
Constraint identified: Leadership bench strength is the binding constraint, not financial health, which is often assumed to be the problem.
90-day target: 44 to 58 (closing 25% of the gap to 100), via a documented succession plan for the top two program roles and one cross-trained backup per critical function.
What you get: the full scorecard above, a written memo explaining each score, and a 60-90 minute session walking through the plan, delivered whether the news is good or hard to hear.
